The term "Restorations" can be misleading. Many BMW and Moto Guzzi owners are not interested in restoring their motorcycle to pristine condition - some might just want to "Spruce the Ole' girl up a little". Others might want only the frame and power train redone because they have their own ideas for repainting the bodywork.
This is how "Murph’s BMW & Moto Guzzi Service" views the Restoration process:
- Restoration - This is an all out effort to return the motorcycle to show room condition. We "go to the bone" with paint, chrome, buffing, glass beading and oreiginal OEM parts for a finished product worthy of concourse presentation
- Recondition - Many clients prefer this approach, where they have better control of costs and finished product as the motorcycle is stripped, refurbished and reassembled in phases.
- "Resurrection" - This approach is available for those cases where "I found it in a barn" or "It’s been stored for 20 years" and the owner just wants a safe, dependable BMW to ride. In these cases - and we see many of them - our focus is on ensuring the mechanics for the motorcycle are in order and good repair. Very often, the request for "Resurrection" becomes one for "Recondition" as a sad looking creature begins to morph into a collectible BMW or Moto Guzzi!
